Raming tea Co., ltd. Was first founded under the name of mountain tea in 1947 by a local businessman in chiang mai named mr. Prasitdh phumxusri. During his trekking on mount chiangdao, he noticed the tree that hill tribes picked leaves for chewing was the same as that for drinking. Thus, he started his own study and experiment, and bought some land for tea plantations. This was the starting point of the tea business in thailand.
The company's name was changed in 1967 to raming tea Co., ltd. Referring to mount chiangdao, a watershed of the mae raming (mae ping) river, where the tea is grown. The ram, which is often found living there, is used as the company's emblem.

Raming tea has owned over 395 acres of black tea plantations on the mountain highlands of chiangmai province for decades. The tea plant (camellia sinensis) is grown as a bush on elevated land and carefully pruned every year so that the leaves can be easily picked by hand. Only the tenderest top two leaves and the unopened buds are picked by our well-trained hilltribe workers. Additionally, the company purchases chinese tea from another two contract suppliers who have more than 1,186 acres of chinese tea plantations.

The raming tea plantation's factory can process around 1,000-1,500 kg of fresh tea leaves per day. The drying ratio is 5:1. Our annual production of dried weight is around 50 - 80 tons. The stock is kept at the plantation's factory and taken down for further processing at the packing processing plant in chiangmai city.

Currently, raming tea provides six kinds of products to customers including black chinese tea leaves, jasmine chinese tea leaves, jasmine chinese tea bags, chrysanthemum chinese tea bags, oolong chinese tea bags, and highland black tea bags. Most of its products are distributed domestically. About 10% of its production output is exported to foreign markets, especially in europe.
